PROJECT IMPLEMENTED THANKS TO EUROPEAN FUNDS FROM THE UMBRIA REGION
The company benefited from the support provided under the Umbria RDP 2014/2020, Measure 16 – Sub-measure 16.4 – Type of intervention 16.4.1, Action b) “Supply chain cooperation for the creation and development of short supply chains in the truffle-growing sector”, for the implementation of a project called “Terre del Tartufo”. The project aims to encourage short supply chains through regional cooperation between farms and agri-food companies that process and directly sell the products of agricultural producers, acting as the only intermediaries between farmers and the market by purchasing directly from farmers and handling all the stages required to bring the final product to market. The short supply chain, which brings together farmers who produce and sell the raw material and the industrial sector that undertakes to purchase and process it, is a tool for increasing added value through the processing, by regional processors, of truffles produced within the region into a range of food products for human consumption, distinguished by the certain local origin of the raw material used.
The expenditure requested for the implementation of the project amounts to €747,901.32, corresponding to approved support of €299,160.53. The expenditure concerned investments aimed at modernizing and strengthening the processing and packaging lines for raw materials used to obtain food products intended for human consumption, as well as the creation of truffle-growing plantations by the farms involved, for the cultivation of truffles intended for the supply chain.
